OutrightSite vs GoDaddy

GoDaddy's price is an introduction. Then it climbs.

The GoDaddy Website Builder gets something online quickly, at a tempting first-year rate. The rate rises at renewal, the upsells keep coming, and the site stays on GoDaddy's platform where you cannot move it. OutrightSite builds a site you own outright for one fixed payment, with nothing to renew.

How their price scales

The rate you start on is not the rate you keep.

The GoDaddy builder draws you in at roughly £9 a month. That is the introductory rate. At renewal it steps up, commonly to around £15 a month, and it recurs every term after, with add-ons for email, security and marketing pushed along the way.

Three years in, a typical GoDaddy builder plan has cost well over £400, and it keeps going, for a site that still is not yours. OutrightSite is £299, once, and the site is yours the day it ships.

Why businesses switch

What you get with OutrightSite instead.

Fixed price

One payment, no renewal creep

£299 once, and the price never moves because there is no next term. Your only ongoing cost is the domain, typically £1 to £20 a year.

You own it

The site is yours, not GoDaddy's

The domain, the code and the hosting all sit in your own accounts. It is portable, and nobody can take it offline.

No upsells

Everything is in the box

Hosting, SSL and a fast, complete site are all included. There is no add-on to buy and no prompt to upgrade.

Simple to run

Change it by asking

Describe an edit in plain English and it is published. Keep your domain with GoDaddy or move it; either way the site is yours.

No plan, and still simple to keep updated

Your site ships with a caretaker pack built into your code repository, so Claude Code already knows how it works. Ask for a change in plain English — hours, prices, a new photo — and it makes the edit and publishes it, no builder to log into.

Claude Code costs about £20 a month while you use it, billed monthly with no lock-in: pay for one month, make your edits over those 30 days, then stop. If you would rather not pay anything, the free GitHub editor lets the technically confident change the code directly. And either way, it is a small, optional cost for a skill that is yours to keep, with no renewal creeping up on you.

Common questions

Moving from GoDaddy to OutrightSite.

I bought my domain from GoDaddy. Can I keep it?

Yes. You can point your existing GoDaddy domain at the new site by connecting it to your own Cloudflare account. The domain stays registered in your name and the site is built around it.

Why does the GoDaddy price go up after the first year?

The low rate is an introductory offer for the first term; renewals are charged at the standard, higher rate. OutrightSite has no renewal, because there is no subscription, only the one build fee.

Can I move a GoDaddy builder site to OutrightSite?

Sites made in the GoDaddy Website Builder cannot be exported and rehosted. We rebuild a fresh site as standard code from your content and brand, deployed into your own accounts, so this one you can always move.

Do I still get email with my domain?

Custom email is a separate service. You can add cost-free or low-cost email routing on your own domain; we point you to the options at handover so you are not tied to a bundled plan.

What are the ongoing costs with OutrightSite?

Only the domain, typically £1 to £20 a year, paid straight to the registrar. Hosting is free and there is no OutrightSite subscription. Editing with Claude Code is about £20 for any month you choose to make changes, with no lock-in.

One payment. Your accounts. Your website, for good. Founding price £299, going up to £399.
