OutrightSite vs Squarespace

A polished, modern site — without the never-ending bill cycle.

A Squarespace site is polished, and it is rented: a monthly bill, on their platform, for as long as it exists. OutrightSite delivers a polished, professional finish and hands you the whole thing for one payment. You choose the template, palette and fonts; we build it and you own it.

What it actually costs

One payment against a bill with no end date.

A Squarespace plan looks small at around fifteen to twenty pounds a month. Left running, it quietly overtakes the cost of a site you own outright inside the first two years, and keeps climbing every year after that.

OutrightSite is a single payment of £299. The site is then free to run on your own hosting. The longer you keep it, the wider the gap gets.

Why businesses switch

What you get with OutrightSite instead.

Polished finish

A polished, modern design

You pick from professional templates, curated palettes and font pairings, and we deliver a fast, sharp site. The look holds its own; the difference is that you own it.

Pay once

£299, then nothing

No monthly plan and no renewal. Your only ongoing cost is the domain, typically £1 to £20 a year, paid straight to the registrar.

In your name

Domain, code and hosting, all yours

Everything is deployed into your own Cloudflare and GitHub accounts. Nobody can switch it off or hold it hostage.

Effortless edits

Change it by asking

Describe a change in plain English and it is made and published. No editor to learn and no monthly seat to keep.

Editing it later is on you, and it is easy

Your site ships with a caretaker pack built into your code repository, so Claude Code already knows how it is put together. Ask for a change in plain English — new photos, new copy, a new section — and it makes the edit and publishes it, no design tool to learn.

Claude Code is about £20 a month while you use it, billed monthly with no lock-in: pay for one month, make all the changes you want across those 30 days, and cancel any time. Prefer not to pay at all? The free GitHub editor lets the technically confident edit the code directly. And either way, it is a small, optional cost for a skill that stays with you, unlike a plan that climbs every year.

Common questions

Moving from Squarespace to OutrightSite.

Will my OutrightSite look professional?

Yes. You choose the template, palette and font pairing, and we build a fast, modern, polished site. You end up with a finished design you own outright, rather than one you rent by the month.

Can you move my existing Squarespace site across?

Squarespace exports limited content and not the full design, so we rebuild rather than migrate. We use your existing words and brand to create a fresh site deployed into your own accounts.

Squarespace bundles hosting. Do I lose that?

No. Your hosting is included, free, on Cloudflare in your own account. You get the same handled-for-you feeling without the monthly charge or the platform lock-in.

What about a blog, a shop or scheduling?

A blog and a contact and enquiry flow are part of the build. Simple selling is coming as a later tier on your own Stripe. Full scheduling and membership systems are not in the core build today.

Is £299 genuinely the whole cost?

Yes. The build is £299 once. After that you pay only your domain, typically £1 to £20 a year, straight to the registrar. Hosting is free and there is no OutrightSite subscription.

One payment. Your accounts. Your website, for good. Founding price £299, going up to £399.
