Pay-once website builder
Most website builders rent you a site by the month. A pay-once builder charges a single fee and hands the site over. OutrightSite is the second kind: one payment for a complete business website, deployed into your own accounts, then £0 a month for good.
Plain definition
A subscription builder keeps your website on its platform and charges you every month for as long as the site exists. Stop paying and the site goes dark. You are renting.
A pay-once builder charges one fee, builds the site, and gives it to you to keep. OutrightSite goes a step further than most: your site is deployed into your own domain, code repository and hosting, so nobody can switch it off and nothing renews. One payment, and it is yours the way a thing you bought is yours.
The maths over three years
Figures for rented builders are typical market rates at the time of writing, not exact quotes. Your domain is paid to your registrar either way.
| Rented builder | OutrightSite | |
|---|---|---|
| Up front | Often £0 to low intro | £299 one-time |
| Every month | ~£17–£25 | £0 |
| After 1 year | ~£200–£300 | £299 total |
| After 3 years | ~£600–£900+ | Still £299 |
| If you stop paying | Site goes offline | Site keeps running |
| Who owns it | The platform | You |

Questions
It charges a single fee to build your site, then nothing after that. OutrightSite builds your complete website for one payment and deploys it into your own domain, code and hosting, so there is no subscription and nothing to renew.
Yes, really. You pay once. Your site runs on free-tier hosting in your own account, so the ongoing cost is £0 a month. The only optional cost is your domain, paid to your registrar directly, typically £1 to £20 a year.
The founding price is £299 once, rising to £399. Nothing else is required to launch, and there are no recurring charges.
Outright. The domain, the code and the hosting are created in your name and handed to you. If OutrightSite vanished tomorrow, your site would carry on running.
Yes. Your caretaker pack lets you edit the whole site in plain English through Claude Code (about £20 a month only while you use it, no lock-in), or edit the files for free through GitHub if you are comfortable with that.
